Everyone reminded Ndayisaba how expensive he was
The end of the road was nigh for Floribert Ndayisaba the moment he walked into AFC Leopards.

His was a career that would never take off.

The Burundian has been a flop of flops. He is probably the biggest flop in the Premeir League in recent years, but why will we say that about him?

Because he cost a colossal sum of money and was not properly scouted.

I don't blame the guy, he was just not as good as people had drawn him up to be. He was not the cross between Xabi Alonso and Andres Iniesta that most said he would be.

I am not even sure Leopards scouted the guy or bought him from hearsay. They paid a huge amount of money on a player they did not know, if you ask me.

Ndayisaba reminds me of two players of Chelsea FC orientation (Chelsea fan here).

Gael Kakuta was touted as one of the best upcoming talents in world football and Chelsea took the plunge for him, without really doing their homework and look what happened.

They fell in trouble with FIFA over a guy that was just not worth it.

Fernando Torres was a different case. The fact that he cost 50 million pounds meant that that expectations were sky high. Everyone wanted to see nutmegs, cross overs, overhead kicks and 60 yard goals.

They expected Torres to score in doubles or triples and produce a factory of goals. It did not happen. Expectations were too high and it got to his head and he has never been the same since.

Same for Ndayisaba. He fits in the two categories in some way, never properly scouted and too expensive.

So when he did not start too well at Leopards, they always reminded him how expensive he was and the pain they went through to get him an ITC.

Even if he was good, he was never going to show it in a Leopards shirt.
