Manchester City are reportedly willing to pull out of the race to sign Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.
Sources claim that the league leaders are being put of by the surprisingly hefty transfer fees that both Arsenal and Sanchez’s agent Fernando Felicevich are demanding, which are totalling to around £40m and are admittedly making the English side feel that they are being held to ransom.
City had initially hoped to land the Chilean in a bargain £25m deal this January - an offer that Arsenal that thereafter shot to around £35m after bitter rivals Manchester United joined the bidding war for the wantaway.
Speculations now suggest that Felicevich, who is negotiating the deal on Sanchez’s behalf, is also demanding a commission of around £5m - a development that has prompted City to play hardball in an attempt to call Arsenal’s bluff.
