Futsal: Benadir spank Galbeed as Somali community league kicks off in Kampala

The Somali Community Futsal league kicked off over the weekend at the International Futsal courts in Mengo. 

Six teams including Banaadir, Galmudug, Puntland, Jubaland, Hirshabeele and K. Galbed are taking part in a round-robin league format.

These are people of the Somali origin who are leaving in the country. 

The league will run under the Futsal Association of Uganda calendar as we promote the game in the various communities around the country, the Futsal Association president Hamza Jjunju told Futaa.


Saddam Hussein struck a hat-trick as Banadir pounded Galbeed 8-1 in the opening game. Galmudug beat Hirshabeele 6-3 while Puntland edged Jubaland 3-2. 

The league will be played every Friday at the Futsal courts, a day after the national Futsal league.
