Just a fortnight after former club chief executive officer, Innocent Oguda threw in the towel, now long-serving coach Asaph Mwebaze has tendered in his resignation letter.
The prisons club is set for a new regime after gaining promotion to the topflight league for the second time in three years. Mwebaze confirmed the developments to Futaa on Sunday morning.
- I have finally decided to end my tenure with Maroons FC. I dont think i can make them any better and feel it's important i go for another challenge, the soft spoken coach revealed.
He handed in his letter on Thursday morning but the club is yet to issue an official statement on the same.
Newly appointed CEO, Pius Bamwange confirmed receiving his letter but could not divulge other information.
- I was informed that he (Mwebaze) handed in his request to leave but as far as i know, he is still the coach. We (The club management) will sit on Monday to discuss the issues, Bamwange briefly said.
The 44-year old is a Caf C coaching license holder. He recently attended Caf B course and still awaiting results from the continental body.
